| Randah workshop review: September
11th, 2004, Ileena and Adrianna sponsored a workshop in Johnstown, featuring Randa
Rahbar. Raihana, of Pittsburgh, PA, led a dance meditation warm-up. Randa
taught an exciting cabaret style choreography that was so much fun to do, that we hardly
knew we were working so hard! Randa also opened the afternoon session with a Pilates
warm-up, explaining how strengthening the core back and abdominal muscles is a key part of
belly dance. After lunch we started the afternoon session with a stage make-up lesson with Angela Prato (who will be coming to State College in December for a workshop and show), which gave us some great tips. An extra-fun time was had by all as this was Ileena's 25th anniversary of her involvement in bellydance, and we celebrated with a cake, and raffle give-aways of Ileena's famous home-made wine, and gift baskets of body-care products. Ileena is sponsoring another workshop in April 2005, featuring Jasmin Jahal of Ohio. |
